Friday Night Highlights

Before Jake along, we used to go out to dinner or a movie or hang out with friends on Friday nights. Now, we rent movies and give each other facials! Okay, Mike only let me do this the one time because we were really bored. What a good husband!

Three Months

Jake's three months milestones:

• Holding his hands


• Playing with his tongue


• Pulling our hair out! He's very strong.


• Waking up happy and smiling (most of the time)


• Longer daytime naps


• Laughing


• Talking even more


• Entertaining himself

Healthy(er) snack

Jake likes to suck on Mike's finger for a snack. I prefer something tastier. Take a banana and cut it in half lengthwise. Spread some peanut butter on each half and then drizzle with either honey or hershey's chocolate syrup. Very good!

Park

Day at the park

Today has been so pretty! It's warm and the wind isn't blowing for a change. So I got brave and took Jake and Brady to the park at the same time by myself. (I usually take them separately for fear of Brady taking off somewhere.) We walked almost two miles and Brady was really good. He stayed right beside Jake's stroller the whole time. Jake seems to like being outside. He looks around at the trees and things as they go by. The rest of this week is supposed to be pretty like today so I'm excited that we'll be able to get out of the house for a change.

Twelve weeks

I took Jake to the doctor today to have him weighed. He was 11lbs and 15 oz. He's gaining but not as fast as he was before he got sick. They suggested I start drinking Mother's Milk tea five times a day and if that doesn't work start taking some medication to increase the milk supply. I'll try the tea for a week, but I'm still going to give him formula every day. And if the tea doesn't work then we will go all formula for the little guy. It's so crazy to me that doctor's really don't want you to formula feed babies these days.

Sleepy head

Toys!

In the last couple days Jake has started to figure out how to use his hands. He's reaching for toys and batting at them. If you put a rattle or something next to his left hand he can grasp it and hold on for awhile. He also loves to suck on his hands. So, when he's holding something it either ends up in his mouth or whacking him on the head!

Smile-sort of

He has the cutest smile! This is the closest we've gotten to capturing it on film. As soon as he sees the camera he gets all serious again. You can tell he's trying to figure out what it is and how it works.
