Earth Day Project

Mike and I decided to take Jake over to our neighborhood park for a little clean up job to teach him about community service and taking care of our world. Nothing like a little civics lesson to start the day for a toddler. We have a nice little pond in our park that we've noticed had tons of litter in it and we just wanted to pick up a bit and make it look nice. So, by the time Jake woke up from his nap and we had lunch and got out to the pond it was around 1:30pm. Which in Texas time is really hot thirty. It was about a thousand degrees outside. And we had wisely dressed our boy in little denim overalls. Because nothing lets your skin breathe like denim. So, anyway, after about fifteen minutes of Mike raking stuff out of the pond and me and Jake bagging it up we noticed that his little cheeks were really red. And we decided to call it quits for the day. We're planning on going back Thursday morning to finish the job. We'll just have to start out while it's still cool outside. So, let's say around 5am.

  1. You guys ROCK!
On a separate note: does Texas just go from cold to hot instantly? Is that it for your spring?
You can always come back here if you feel like a little June gloom! Hee Hee
