Our House in the middle of our street

It doesn't look like much now, but in six or seven months this lot should have our brand new house sitting on it! After months of contemplating if we could afford to buy a house and if this really is the best time for us to do it, we decided to take the plunge. We're on a limited budget so we thought we might have to move to the ghetto to get a house we could afford. We've been looking at several in the neighborhood we're renting in for months now but they all seemed a little out of our price range. Then we saw a couple houses in neighboring communities that we could afford but one of them backed up to an apartment complex. The house was nice enough but all 100 of our closest neighbors would have been able to see right inside. And let's face it, I'd like to keep all the moments I spend roaming around the house in my flannel pj's private. So then our real estate agent suggested we go outside of the city limits to the next little town where there is a new community going up. Turns out if interest rates stay where they are (fingers crossed) and we live off of Ramen noodles for awhile, we can afford to build in this area. We're very excited and a little nervous. I'm just praying everything works out the way it should. Tomorrow we get to go pick out what kind of brick, tile, carpet and other features we want inside the house. Yeah! I'm thinking leopard prints and pink, shag carpet.

  2. Congrats! Even though it's not a house yet, I bet it feels good to own something! And, you get to make it exactly what you want! That is totally worth waiting six months for!
