Move over Martha Stewart

Ever since we moved into this house I've been consumed by one thought. What am I supposed to do with an art niche? We don't really do art. Finally, the other day I went into Hobby Lobby and found these really cute red glass wall sconce thingy's that I thought would look good in there.

I brought them home and decided I liked them and then I started thinking about this pretty red vase I had also seen in the store. Two days later I took Mike back with me and we walked out with the red vase and three of its friends.

Originally, I was just going to put the larger vase in there and use the others to decorate other parts of the house. But Mike put three of them together in the niche and we thought it looked good. What do you think? Is it too much? Also, should I look for some sort of flowers or branches or twigs or something to put in the bigger vase? I feel like it needs one more little touch, but I'm not sure what that should be. Thoughts please.

I think we did pretty good. It's amazing what less than $100 will get you at Hobby Lobby. Now I'm just gonna sit back and wait for the people at Extreme Home Makeover to call and offer me a decorating job on their show.

  1. Lookin good Martha. Yes, you do need something in the tall vase and maybe the small ones too. I think some sort of twig/stick/branch. But I'm terrible at decorating so that's all I have to offer.

  2. We have one of those niches too.
Add things in the vases that remind you of the season or holiday?
I'm not the greatest at decorating.
Our niche currently houses a statue of a fish, turtle and frog. Random...
